The digital pen solution looks perfectly ordinary, and the ink cartridge in the pen allows writing as normal, but each component hides a secret.

The Anoto patterned paper has a matrix made up of millions of dots, virtually invisible to the naked eye, which allow the digital pen to read and record everything which is written with pinpoint accuracy.
The pen incorporates a digital camera, an advanced image-processing unit and a Bluetooth radio transceiver.
As you write, the pen illuminates the dots of the Anoto pattern on the paper with infrared light and then takes digital snapshots at the rate of 100 per second.
Yet the writer is only aware of holding a conventional pen, writing with ink in a conventional way. It means the digital pen is ideal for capturing signatures and form entries from clients to customers.
The pen has no overt signs of technology and is activated and de-activated simply by removing or replacing the cap.
Transmitting the captured handwriting from the digital pen is incredibly easy. At the bottom of the Anoto paper you simply tick the box to send.
The image is an exact copy of whatever is written and can then be merged with a pre-designed form already on the service platform and can be sent via the Internet or fax to anywhere in the world.
The simplicity and speed of the process means there are massive time and cost savings to be made using the digital pen.
